Kent Laidlaw is among Canada's leading experts in trauma intervention and
training. His unique skills are derived from a distinguished career in law
enforcement, specialized trauma response training and first-hand experience
in some of the world's most devastating conflicts. Kent focuses on providing
emergency response professionals and victims with the tools they need to
effectively handle traumatic events.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Debriefed 200 atrocity survivors in Bosnia
- Honoured as the Canadian Public Relations Society's "Communicator of
the Year" and a frequent keynote speaker at events throughout North America.
- One of the few Canadian Crisis Responders to be certified by the
National Organization for Victims Assistance (NOVA) in Washington, D.C.
- Instrumental in developing a training model and video dealing with
death notification used by all levels of emergency service providers
throughout North America
- Conducted hearings for victims of violent crimes as a past Member of
the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board
- Recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal and the Judge Theo
McCombs Award from the Hamilton Automobile Club for outstanding contribution
to traffic safety for developing the Halton Regional Police Children's
Safety Village
